Speaking after the occasion Congress Punjab Party Chief, Navjot Singh Sidhu, said “It is a matter of great happiness for us that a young woman who has earned a name for herself by running an NGO and dedicated herself to the people’s service is joining our party,”

The Congress Party Chief referred to the development as “Game Changer” in Punjab elections. He further added “It is very rare that a party chief and the chief minister both have gone to someone’s home to grant the honor, and she deserves it”

The official Twitter handle of Punjab youth Congress captioned the photo with the trio as “Future of Punjab is ready!”.

The Punjab State will cast its vote in a single-phase election on February 14. The state election is going into a fierce contest between ruling Congress, AAP, BJP, SAD-BSP & new farmer’s front Samyukt Samaj Morcha.

Counting for all the 117 seats will take place on March 10.

Malvika Sood is expected to be the party’s choice for contesting from Moga district constituent assembly in upcoming elections.

Actor Sonu Sood welcomed the decision of his sister & expressed his full support. The Election Commission of India, last week, revoked the appointment of the actor as ‘State Icon’ after he stepped down citing family member(s) contesting in the upcoming state election.
