February 5, 2022: The Resistant Front (TRF) terrorists were killed in an encounter at the Zakura area of Srinagar. One of them was Ikhlaq Hajam, who killed a constable at Anantnag’s Hassanpora.

Kashmir zone police on their Twitter said, “Two terrorists of terror outfit LeT/TRF neutralized by Srinagar Police. One of the killed terrorists, Ikhlaq Hajam, was involved in the recent killing of HC Ali Mohd at Hassanpora Anantnag. Incriminating materials including two pistols recovered.“

Those terrorists were killed after an operation that lasted for an hour.

The late head constable, Ali Muhammad Ganie, was killed last week at 5.35 PM near his residence after terrorists opened fire on him. Even though he was rushed to the nearest government hospital in Anantnag, he died on the way, as per the doctors.

He was posted as a head constable at the Kulgam police station. Various leaders across various parties condemned his killing as “cowardly” and “deplorable.”

Altaf Thakur, a Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson, said, “Strongly denounce the killing of Policeman at Bijbehara. Its barbaric, condemnable and deplorable act urges police top brass to punish killers forthwith.“

“Unequivocally condemn the cowardly attack on Jammu and Kashmir police Head Constable Ali Muhammad Ganie in Anantnag’s Hassanpora area in which he lost his life. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and colleagues. May Allah grants him a place in Jannat,” Jammu and Kashmir National Conference tweeted.
