12th January 2022 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the 25th National Youth Festival today, on the occasion of the National Youth Day.
National Youth day is celebrated on the 12th of January every year, to mark the birth of Swami Vivekananda, to honor the great saint and his ideals.
PM Modi will inaugurate and address the gathering at 11 AM today. This will be followed by the National Youth Summit.
During the summit, the youth of our nation will get the much-required stage to express their views on 4 current topics, namely climate and sustainable development goals (SDG) led by growth, technology, entrepreneurship & innovation, environment, indigenous & ancient wisdom, and national character & nation-building.
The Youth Affairs secretary Usha Sharma reckons that “the festival aims to shape the minds of India’s youth and transform them into a united force for nation-building.”
The secretary added, that “the National Youth Festival is one of the biggest events of its kind and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has been celebrating it with the objective of providing a platform to bring the youth of the country together in an attempt to provide the opportunity to showcase their talents in various activities.“
Sharma continued that “The Festival also provides an arena, by creating a mini-India, where youth interact in formal and informal settings and exchange their social and cultural uniqueness. This blend of diverse socio-cultural milieu creates Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.”
The Prime minister will also be inaugurating a technology center, functioning under the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), and a modern auditorium with an open-air theatre, named after the great leader Kamarajar.
During the inauguration, the PM will also unveil selected essays on “Mere Sapno ka Bharat”, and “Unsung Heroes on Indian Freedom Movement.”
