21st January 2022 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, announced on Friday that a grand statue of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose will be installed at the India Gate.

He has further added, that unitil the actual statue to be made of Granite is installed, a holographic statue will be put in for public viewing.

“At a time when the entire nation is marking the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am glad to share that his grand statue, made of granite, will be installed at India Gate. This would be a symbol of India’s indebtedness to him,” PM Modi tweeted on Friday.

“Till the grand statue of Netaji Bose is completed, a hologram statue of his would be present at the same place. I will unveil the hologram statue on 23rd January, Netaji’s birth anniversary,” the PM continued.

In a way, the holographic statue will also depict in a way, how Netaji was always there for India, even when he was not physically present. The mere thoughts of “What would Netaji do now” sent shivers down the spine of the enemies.

The statue would be 28 feet tall and 6 feet wide, and is expected to be installed under the grand canopy, where British King George V’s bust was kept until 1968.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister has tweeted, “This is a befitting tribute to the legendary Netaji, who gave everything for India’s freedom.”

The Centre has also announced that, the Republic Day celebrations would begin from January 23 to coincide with the birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. Also since last year, January 23 has been observed as “Parakram Diwas” in honor and memory of the great freedom fighter, and the commander of the Indian National Army (INA)
