Kishore Upadhyay - Expelled from congress

As assembly polls are getting closer, there is no scarcity of dramas. In that list, yesterday, ex-congress chief Kishore Upadhayay may join BJP today as per the sources.

Kishore Upadhayay, a former MLA of Tehri, won the 2002 and 2007 elections. He was the Congress’s Uttarakhand state president from 2014 to 2017.

As per the letter written by Devender Yadav to Kishore Upadhayay, “Since you had been continuously indulging yourself in anti-party activities despite warnings. So you are hereby expelled from the primary membership of Congress party for six years with immediate effect.”

But as per the sources, this is not an unexpected move as speculations started as soon as the third list of candidates was published. Kishore Upadhayay’s name was not even on that list. However, as per ANI, he was already suspended from all the party posts as a disciplinary action and appealed for the revocation of suspension.

These dramas started after Upadhayay personally met the election-in-charge of the BJP party, Uttarakhand, earlier this month.

The Uttarakhand assembly election is planned for February 14, 2022, and the results will be declared on March 10, 2022.
